The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office Records Bureau is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, however submissions or requests for some items are accepted only during certain days and/or times. If you have any questions or need clarification, please call the Records Bureau prior to coming to the Office or email records@coshoctoncounty.net.

Our Records Bureau is responsible for the following:

  • Transcribing, filing and maintaining all reports taken by the Sheriff’s Office, including criminal reports, auto accidents, and traffic citations.
  • Processing reports and pertinent paperwork for the filing of criminal charges, and for court.
  • Processing background check requests by individuals and businesses for such purposes as employment, housing, adoption, foster care and child care purposes. (See Background page for types, fees and hours for processing.)
  • Filing traffic accident reports with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • Processing data to the FBI for Uniform Crime statistics
  • Processing data to BCI&I for domestic violence statistics
  • Processing individual, attorney and insurance company requests for reports
  •  

In April of 2004 the Records Bureau was given a new responsibility when the Ohio Concealed Carry Law came into effect. The records clerk process’s the Conceal Carry applications and issue the licenses after the applications have been approved by the Sheriff.

SCHEDULE OF COPY FEES

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, in accordance with Section 149.43(B)(6) of the Ohio Revised Code, has established the following fees for providing copies of reproductions of public records maintained by the Sheriff’s Office.

All public records maintained by this office shall be promptly prepared and made available for reproduction to any person during regular business hours in accordance with Section 149.43(B)(1) of the Ohio Revised Code. Promptness is determined by the facts and circumstances of each record request.

Adobe PDF (emailed or faxed)                                   Free of charge

Photocopies (Black and White)                                 $0.05 per page

  • First 20 pages (Black and White only) are Free of Charge, afterwards $0.05 per page

Photocopies (Color)                                                     $.10 per page

CD or DVD                                                                      $1.00 per disc

USB Flash Drives                                                            $5.00 per drive 

Postage                                                             Postage will be charged at the rate of the USPS

(Special envelopes are required by the USPS for CD/DVD and USB Flash Drives – envelope cost will be charged at the rate of the USPS)     

Fingerprint Cards (Hard Prints)                                  $10

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 149.43, a requestor SHALL be charged $75.00 per hour of video produced, up to $750.00.
