News release On April 16th, 2024 at approximately 7:58 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a stabbing at the Mohawk Dam in Jefferson Twp.Upon investigation, it was determined that a 29-year-old male from the Akron area was stabbed once by an unknown assailant. The assailant left the scene driving a blue 4 door Honda Civic with a spoiler. News Release On April 14th, 2024 at approximately 12:37 PM the Sheriff’s Office received information from Coshocton County EMS at the West Lafayette Station about a walk-in patient from a motorcycle accident. Deputies determined that 41 y/o Todd Lahna of West Lafayette was traveling southbound on CR 5 when he went off the roadway striking a ditch. Mr. Lahna was helped by a passerby that drove him to meet EMS. Mr. Lahna was treated by CCEMS and then flown to Ohio State University Medical Center by Medflight. News ReleaseOn April 13th, 2024 at approximately 04:07 PM the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a single vehicle accident with possible injuries near Cambridge Road and Overlook Drive. Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that 36 y/o Kyle Carpenter of Coshocton was traveling westbound on Cambridge Road near Overlook Drive when his motorcycle overturned ejecting Mr. Carpenter into the roadway. Mr. Carpenter was transported to Coshocton Regional Medical Center by Coshocton County EMS where he later succumbed to his injuries. News ReleaseOn April 11th , 2024 at approximately 05:31 PM Deputies and Coshocton County EMS were responding to the 17000 block of SR 16 in Franklin TWP for a medical incident. While approaching the intersection at SR 16 and SR 83 responding personnel observed a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries.Responding Deputies diverted to the scene of the accident, it was determined that a 2005 Honda, operated by a Jorge Rivas 36 year old male of Columbus was making a left hand turn from SR 83 onto SR 16 Westbound when he observed emergency personnel approaching. Mr. Rivas came to a stop to yield the right away to emergency personnel when a 2011 Kia being operated by a Tanner Taylor 27 year old male of Trinway struck Mr. Rivas vehicle. There were two other occupants in Mr. Rivas vehicle a Johanna Gonzalez 46 year old female of Columbus, and a Rosa Gonzalezpolo 39 year old female of Columbus. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Rivas were both treated and released at the scene by Coshocton County EMS. Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Gonzalezpolo were both transported from the scene to Coshocton Reginal Medical Center with unknown injuries. Mr. Taylor was cited for Assured Cleared Distance, and Mr. Rivas was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License.
