The Special Response Team (SRT) is tasked with the responsibility of responding to critical, life-threatening incidents within Coshocton County.
The team consists of officers highly trained in offensive tactics, negotiation, and marksmanship. The SRT also has state of the art weapons and equipment, which require specialized skills and training.
One SRT vehicle, a former ambulance, was donated to the Sheriff’s Office by Medflight of Ohio and was modified to meet the requirements of the SRT operations. The other vehicle was acquired from a drug seizure. Since its inception, the Sheriff’s Office SRT has successfully resolved several incidents without serious injury or loss of life to any citizen or officer.

- Service of high risk warrants
- Barricaded subjects
- Hostage rescue
- Extraordinary/Rapid deployment
- VIP/dignitary or high profile prisoner protection details
- Armed suicidal subjects
- Crowd control
- Officer and citizen rescues
