On April 22nd, 2024 at approximately 8:47 pm the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a possible injury accident near the intersection of TR 454 and TR 438 in Washington TWP. Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that Brian Lauvray (38 Y.O. Male) of Dresden was traveling southbound on TR 454 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. Mr. Lauvray stated he was swerving to avoid a deer. After striking the tree, Mr. Lauvray’s vehicle over turned and landed on the drivers side. Mr. Lauvray was treated and released on scene my Dresden EMS.![]()

On April 22nd, 2024 at approximately 9:16 pm the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a possible injury accident on Otsego Ave near Fair Falls Drive. Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that Michael Byrne (28 Y.O. Male) of Coshocton was traveling northbound on Otsego Ave when he went left of center. Mr. Byrne then side swiped a vehicle traveling southbound on Otsego Ave, this vehicle was being operated by Shawn McDonald (50 Y.O. Male) of Coshocton. Mr. Byrne then went over the embankment coming to rest. Mr. McDonald was transported to CRMC by CCEMS for his injuries. Mr. Byrne and his juvenile passenger were treated and released on scene. Mr. Byrne was cited for failure to control his vehicle and failure to stay in marked lanes.![]()

On April 19, 2024 at approximately 2:28 PM the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an injury accident on US 36 at SR 621, in Keene Township.![]()
Upon arrival of Deputies it was determined that Barbara Addy (67), of Newcomerstown, was traveling west bound on US. 36 when she entered the left turn lane (onto SR 621). Mrs. Addy failed to yield to east bound traffic and was struck by a vehicle when making the left turn. The other vehicle was operated by Angela Crist (50), of Nashport. Mrs. Addy had a passenger, Dolly Gradehouse (88), of Newcomerstown. Mrs. Crist had a passenger, Kimberly Esplen(62), of Zanesville.![]()
Mrs. Addy, Mrs. Crist and Mrs. Esplen were transported to Genesis of Coshocton with unknown injuries. Mrs. Gradehouse was pronounced deceased at the accident scene.![]()

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch 123 in effect until midnight EDT tonight for the following areas in Ohio. This watch includes 11 counties in East Central Ohio:![]()
Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Muskingum, Jefferson, Monroe, Harrison, Noble, and Tuscarawas.

On April 16th, 2024 at approximately 7:58 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a stabbing at the Mohawk Dam in Jefferson Twp.![]()
Upon investigation, it was determined that a 29-year-old male from the Akron area was stabbed once by an unknown assailant. The assailant left the scene driving a blue 4 door Honda Civic with a spoiler. Male was flown from the scene by Air Evac and with unknown injuries.![]()
This case remains under investigation at this time.![]()
