Dear Valerie and CPT Staff,
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in providing public transportation for individuals residing in Coshocton County. Four years ago, I went from being quite independent with walking and driving, to needing the use of a wheelchair. If it wasn’t for CPT, I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten to doctor appointments, the senior center and the occasional shopping trip.
Coshocton County is fortunate to have such a needed service. Most of my doctor appointments are in Zanesville or Columbus, which is a jaunt. However, CPT will drive folks wherever they need to be in Ohio! There are folks who ride to Cleveland Clinic, the Columbus airport, and other places that are a ways away.
I hope Coshocton residents are becoming more aware of what CPT has to offer. Because people see me on the chair lift, I am often asked questions which I’m happy to respond to. For example:
- CPT is for anyone who resides in Coshocton County. It is not solely for senior citizens and/or disabled individuals. It is not based on income.
- Currently, grants cover the cost of local rides and various funding is used to cover trips to doctor appointments outside of Coshocton County. This is huge! Riders are encouraged to give a donation if possible.
- Transportation is available for non-doctor appointments. Rides will pay by the mile.
- Yes! The shuttles are very clean! The drivers take great pride in maintaining clean buses.
- I feel very safe riding the shuttles. The drivers are very much aware of their surroundings, both outside of the bus and inside the bus. In fact, most of the clients are pleasant and some like to chat for part of the ride.
As you continue to transition from “CCCTA” to “CPT”, I hope more people will give you a try! Whether it’s a broken leg, a car that has called it quits, or just curiosity, CPT welcomes ALL people to utilize their service.
Once again, THANK YOU for all that you do!
Sincerely,
Barbara Bergerson

“When it comes to quality transportation Coshocton Public Transit is the best! Coshocton Opportunity students use CPT for transportation to school and the Opportunity School has used CPT to attend local events in the City of Coshocton. Valerie Shaw and her staff and drivers are friendly and efficient. Coshocton County is lucky to have such a quality Agency!” – Tom Hilgenberg, Director, Coshocton Opportunity School
“I am pleased to express my appreciation of our public transit. Everyone associated with the program is so courteous. When I call at the first of the month to set up my trips, the office workers are so very helpful and speak with kindness and experience. I enjoy my trips as the drivers are very experienced. I enjoy visiting with them as we go down the road. I have witnessed how helpful the drivers are when a client needs additional help on or off the bus. I look forward to seeing a new building to house the vehicles especially in bad weather to make it easier for all operations.” – Marilyn C., Passenger
“My son goes to the workshop every day. He so much enjoys doing this. He patiently waits every morning for the shuttle bus to come and pick him up and to bring him home each day. This is such a wonderful place for him. He also enjoys going out into the community and doing this. Thank you very much!” Sam B., Father of Passenger
“CPT provides exceptional service, ensuring that community employment is maintained by providing on time and reliable transportation. Without CPT’s transportation we wouldn’t be able to hold our monthly Employee After hours event. Thank you, CPT, for all that you do for us and our community!” – Debbie C., Employment Manager, Coshocton County Board of DD
“I love the service! They provide a great service to the area. I use them a lot to go to appointments and stores.” – Timothy P., Passenger
“The drivers are very nice and friendly. If you have to call and change my ride they will work with me and still get me on time. The office staff is very helpful and always ask how you are.” Misty M., Passenger
