Dog Pound & Redemptions to Owners:
The Coshocton County Dog Wardens office (separate office) determine fees and citations, NOT the animal shelter. We provide care to the stray & surrender release dogs they bring here, while in our shelter. Our 501c3 non-profit provides all the veterinary care to adoptables and programs in the county. To claim your dog who entered here or to report a lost dog at anytime, 24/7 via voicemail, 740-622-9741.

Coshocton county residents only, Community Pet Food Bank:
Last Thursday of each month at 11am until supplies out. 

We appreciate pre-scheduled drop offs. Open Admission Cat Shelter for Coshocton county, 11-1pm Mondays & Tuesdays:
We accept all in county stray cats and kittens free of charge, but donations appreciated, by appointment only.  

We are NOT a “no kill”/no to low intake shelter. If you are not comfortable with the prospect of humane euthanasia, please call and ask your local no kill to help you. 

Coshocton County Surrenders: You must call to schedule, by leaving a message at 740-622-9741.  Coshocton county address must be provided. 

Sadly, WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING OUT OF COUNTY ANIMALS AT THIS TIME. Please contact your own, local dog pound and/or no kill society, shelter etc for assistance. Dog pounds must accept in county, stray dogs.

When surrendering here…please never transport cats loose in your car to our shelter. Please safely confine dogs with a leash or crate for drop off.  

Year Round Dog Tag/License sales:
2026 dog tags on sale for Coshocton County residents only, year round here. All 3 month and older canines must be registered with the state of Ohio, per county and state law. Auditors office, online and at the animal shelter year round. 

We provide humane euthanasia via Good Samaritan turn in to any dying cat or kitten.
