✔️Pay the $25.00 county required surrender fee (otherwise we, the non-profit, have to pay the county, to admit your dog)
✔️Signed owner release form at office.

We accept Coshocton county dogs ONLY (effective 5/1/24) and cats & kittens statewide. We are a dog pound that contracts with the county to operate the dog pound facility. The dog warden surrenders & stray pick ups all enter this building. We are one of the only pounds left in the state to admit owner releases of any kind.

Effective May 1st, 2024 we are no longer accepting dogs outside of Coshocton county. We will continue as an open admission cat shelter.
Many pounds and societies who surround us have left us no choice, as our limited resources and space need to be available to the many, and ever increasing unwanted & stray dogs and puppies of Coshocton county. The increased abandonment and neglect of dogs within our own county, the constant crossover of dogs being left here by individuals under false pretenses from other counties, and endless breeding and lack of commitment by owners—has left us in a constant and overwhelmed state.
We will continue to serve cats and kittens from all counties, as they are left with no options. However, every single county has a dog pound and dog warden to address your dog issues. Please call them.
This is a decision forced upon us, by every shelter and pound, who has neglected to do what is necessary & responsible for the last 10+ years, in the name of the failed “no kill” movement. We can no longer sustain doing all the euthanasia you refuse to do, and we are no longer providing it to your community members. So many pounds and societies have outsourced euthanasia to us, and for many years, and we are no longer able to sustain your burdens in addition to our own.
Responsible & socially conscious animal sheltering includes accepting ALL animals from your county, NOT just the highly adoptable ones.
