The event serves as a time to reflect on the importance of food, fiber, and fuel production, while also highlighting the innovation and stewardship that drive the industry forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hosted by the Coshocton SWCD in partnership with Farm Credit Mid-America, the luncheon often features a guest speaker who shares insight on current agricultural topics, trends, or challenges facing today\u2019s producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Ag Day Luncheon is more than just a meal\u2014it\u2019s an opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the hardworking individuals who contribute to agriculture in Coshocton County and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c230ffaf47c110c2851fe0dd96eb284e\">Summer Pasture Walks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This summer, Coshocton SWCD, will host two pasture walks focused on innovative grazing systems, livestock management, and on-farm water and pasture practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">June 23, 6:30p.m.: Bruce Stevens-Rock Hill Farms &#8211; 17975 TR 65 Coshocton, OH 43812<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plan to explore the various ways Bruce Stevens and family have developed and distributed water, including spring developments with gravity-fed delivery and a pressure system operating off a well. Also, discuss drought challenges and the management of two herds\u2014one owned by Bruce and one by his son, Buster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">August 25, 6:30p.m.: Larry &amp; Todd Endsley-Martin Farm &#8211; 25513 TR 322 Coshocton, OH 43812<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hear from Larry and Todd Endsley as they walk through their seven-paddock rotational&nbsp;&nbsp; grazing system, discuss cropland conversion after one year of pasture establishment, explore the flexibility of grazable hay fields, and share winter feeding insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reservations are appreciated but not required.&nbsp; Water and light snacks will be provided.&nbsp; Coshocton SWCD extends a sincere thank you to Bruce, Larry and Todd for hosting!&nbsp; If you would like more information or to receive a postcard for pasture walks, please call us at (740)622-8087 x 4 or email kelseysaylor@coshoctoncounty.net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e8d24246f2aea01485ed0a7c527d0889\">Forestry Field Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Forestry Field Day is an educational, hands-on event designed to connect landowners, students, and community members with the importance of forest management and conservation.  It is not an annual event but hosted upon interest or need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants have the opportunity to learn directly from natural resource professionals about topics like timber stand improvement, invasive species control, wildlife habitat, and sustainable forestry practices. Each event is tailored to the host property, giving attendees a real-world look at how good stewardship practices are applied on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Forestry Field Day is made possible through partnerships between the Coshocton SWCD, and local and state forestry professionals, all working together to promote responsible woodland management and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re interested in hosting or helping plan a Forestry Field Day on your property, we\u2019d love to work with you\u2014please contact our office to learn more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-88c8840f28dfff22bb541280dde04d0d\">Officials Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Officials Tour is hosted every 2 years that brings together local leaders, elected officials, and community partners for a firsthand look at conservation efforts and natural resource projects across Coshocton County.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hosted by the Coshocton SWCD in partnership with agencies like ODA, the USDA NRCS, the tour highlights a variety of local initiatives focused on soil health, water quality, forestry, and agricultural best management practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the tour, participants visit working farms, conservation project sites, and local operations to see how conservation practices are being implemented in real-world settings. These stops provide valuable insight into the challenges and successes of landowners, while also showcasing the impact of technical and financial assistance programs available through local, state, and federal partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Officials Tour plays an important role in strengthening relationships between decision-makers and the agricultural community. By seeing these practices in action, officials gain a deeper understanding of the importance of conservation efforts and the continued need for support and funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This event not only highlights the dedication of Coshocton County\u2019s landowners and partners, but also helps ensure that conservation remains a priority for the future of our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e02696c00c5b7a5d63ffed2878842ece\">Fall Foliage Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Coshocton County Fall Foliage &amp; Farm Tour is a long-standing annual fall tradition that invites visitors to explore the beauty and agriculture of Coshocton County. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This free, drive-it-yourself tour takes you through scenic backroads filled with vibrant fall color while offering a behind-the-scenes look at local farms, agribusinesses, and historical sites. Along the way, participants can experience everything from livestock and dairy operations to unique rural businesses, all while learning more about the area\u2019s rich agricultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tour is proudly hosted in partnership by the Ohio State University Extension, Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District, and the USDA Farm Service Agency\u2014working together to promote agriculture, conservation, and community education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s the perfect way to enjoy fall, support local agriculture, and discover what makes Coshocton County so special.<\/p>\n<p>More information will be posted closer to the tour! It is always hosted on the 3rd Thursday of October.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This annual gathering serves as both a business meeting and a celebration. During the meeting portion, the District provides updates on programs, projects, and financials from the past year, while also sharing goals and priorities for the year ahead. It is an opportunity for the public to stay informed, ask questions, and take an active role in local conservation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The banquet portion offers a chance to recognize the individuals and organizations making a difference in natural resource stewardship. Awards are presented to outstanding cooperators, and community partners who demonstrate a strong commitment to conservation. Their efforts highlight the importance of protecting our natural resources for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to recognition and updates, the evening often features a guest speaker who brings insight on current conservation topics, agriculture, or environmental stewardship.
