Individuals seeking any type of background check must verify with the requesting agency which type of background check is required.<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>&nbsp;the fee for a 10-print ink rolled fingerprint card is $10.00.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Local Background Check<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This is a Coshocton County Sheriff\u2019s Office jail booking record only. It does NOT include final disposition or the criminal record. Individuals must bring a photo ID or birth certificate and social security card. If these items are not available only a name check will be done.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>WebCheck<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Hours \u2013 Monday through Friday, 08:30 to 3:30pm \u2013 Walk in basis only<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WebCheck is an electronic fingerprint background check and is used by agencies for a more comprehensive background check. This check is an actual criminal history background check. Individuals must appear in person and must bring a photo ID, preferably an Ohio driver\u2019s license, with their date of birth and social security number. If the ID does not have the individual\u2019s social security number on it, they must bring verification of their social security number, preferably their social security card.<\/p>\n<p>There are three different WebCheck transactions available, dependent on the need of the agency requesting the check. The fees for these checks, and their contents, are outlined below.<\/p>\n<p>For more information concerning WebCheck please visit the Ohio Attorney General\u2019s web site at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov\/\">https:\/\/www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note price increases effective Jan1, 2008 for BCI and Combination checks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BCI Check \u2013&nbsp;<strong>$30.00<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This check covers only criminal history information in the State of Ohio and is normally used for people who have lived in the state for 5 years or more. (Requires ORC Code).<\/li>\n<li>FBI Check \u2013&nbsp;<strong>$35.00<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This check covers criminal history information in the United States and is normally used for people who have lived in the state for less than 5 years. (Requires ORC Code).<\/li>\n<li>BCI \/ FBI Check \u2013&nbsp;<strong>$60.00<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This is a combination of the two checks, which some agencies require. (Requires ORC Code).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Background Check Form<\/strong> &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coshoctoncounty.net\/sheriff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/08\/Webcheck-Request.pdf\">Background Check<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Payment options: Cash, check or money order<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WebCheck is an Internet-based program for civilian background checks. Since 1993, the Ohio General Assembly has passed several state laws requiring background checks for certain occupations including individuals who work with children, the elderly and the disabled.<\/p>\n<p>WebCheck uses the internet to electronically transfer complete and accurate fingerprints and textual data to BCI&amp;I, with the results being mailed to the requesting agency or individual. Fingerprint images and personal data is sent via the Internet using a single digit fingerprint scanner and a driver\u2019s license magnetic strip reader. Data transferred over the Internet is encrypted both at the agency site and at BCI&amp;I, and the program is password protected.<\/p>\n<p>The Coshocton County Sheriff\u2019s Office processes WebCheck requests by mail-to transactions, where the requesting agency or individual receives the results of the background check directly. No criminal history information is relayed over the Internet or received by the Coshocton County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p><em>The requesting agency should specify which check(s) are needed. You should verify this information with them prior to coming to the Sheriff\u2019s Office.
