Coshocton County Dog Surrenders:<\/strong>

\u2714\ufe0fPay the $25.00 county required surrender fee (otherwise we, the non-profit, have to pay the county, to admit your dog)

$50.00 suggested donation for humane euthanasia services, you must surrender your pet for this service. We review this protocol at time of scheduling. We do not always have a euthanasia tech available, you must contact your veterinarian for emergencies or dogs over 65 lbs. <\/p>\n

Our cat and Kitten intakes are Mondays-Tuesdays-Thursdays 11-12:45pm. You must complete a drop off form at intake to surrender here.<\/strong>

If you are bringing more than 6-10 adult cats or multiple ferals in traps from large scale cat colony situations, you must call ahead to schedule and discuss surrrender. We euthanize here, but are always structuring space around who we can hold\u2014and save. In the high volume intake weeks, many large groups with no medical history (not vaccinated or fixed) are not held for adoption due to space and resource limitations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many no-kill dog pounds and societies refuse to admit owned pets in any capacity, this leaves dogs and cats to dangerous conditions as abandoned animals or rehomes that result in cruelty or neglect of that animal. Humane euthanasia, is far more merciful and kind, than many of the options left to desperate individuals. We remain open admit to our county for this reason. <\/p>\n

How can we reduce overpopulation? <\/strong>
The general public needs to be responsible and fix the animals they feed as strays & those in their homes before unwanted litters are born. <\/p>\n

How has the no-kill movement failed animals & communities? <\/strong>
All shelters and pounds who neglect to do what is necessary & responsible for the last 20+ years, in the name of the failed \u201cno kill\u201d movement, contributes to our heavy burden. Leaving cats by the thousands to the streets did not solve a crisis, it created one. <\/p>\n
