We are an open admission shelter. We are not a no kill shelter.  We do what we can to safely place and re-home the many animals who enter. Sadly, until the number of homes meets the number of those in need—we continue to admit hundreds of unwanted animals with nowhere to go.

Our dog pound accepts Coshocton strays as required by state law. We are one of the only pounds left in the state admitting owner surrendered canines at all. We are one of the only open admission cat shelters left in the state accepting all cats in need as well. Unlike other “no kill” societies and organizations, we do not turn away animals based on space, aggression, illness, age, injury, lack of funds, or “un-adoptability”.

2018 Dog Pound & Open Admission Cat Shelter
Over 600 canines privately adopted, transferred via partners & approved rescues, or redeemed to owner.  Over 300 felines adopted, rescue/transferred, placed with foster families, or returned to owner after being lost from home.

**68%** of 2018 feline intakes were out of county admissions with nowhere else to turn.
