Railroad
Coshocton is home to short-line Ohio Central Railroad, owned and operated by Genesee & Wyoming, Incorporated.
The Ohio Central operates a North-South mainline interchanging with CSX Railroad at Warwick, Ohio (just west of Akron). It also operates an East-West mainline, joining Mingo Junction, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio via (interchanges with Norfolk Southern and CSX Class 1 railroads.).
The Ohio Central is a 24x7x365 operation with plenty of capacity and heavy haul routes to meet the growing needs of Coshocton’s many industries. Transporting carload freight into and out of Columbus, as well as unit train shipments of various cargo types, the Ohio Central tailors its services to meet the growing and diverse transportation demands of our local market and beyond.

The Columbus interchange allows connection into Ohio’s Foreign Trade Zone #138, providing FTZ services in twenty-five central Ohio counties. FTZ #138 is part of the Rickenbaker Inland Port, a high-speed, international multi-modal logistics hub, located just south of Columbus. The inland port has a tremendous base of air, road and rail transport companies supported by a mix of premier freight forwarders, consolidators, Customs brokers and third-party logistics providers. It is maintained and administered through the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
