Accounting for all County Funds

for approximately 70 county departments.

payroll of about $14.2 million in 2008.
Real Estate Tax Assessment
The Auditor maintains 30,000 county real estate property assessment records
with assessed values totaling over $800 million.
These records are updated daily with changes of ownership and changes of value
due to new construction of property. Property tax reduction programs for
Homestead Exemption, Forestry, and Current Agriculture Use Value (CAUV) are also administered by the Auditor.

licenses and 40 cigarette licenses last year.
Weights & Measures
The Auditor checks the accuracy of all scales, gas pumps and instruments of measure in the county to protect the public from possible loss due to faulty measuring devices. Last year, 341 gas pumps were checked as well as 287 scales.
